Hey, I just got into a big ol’ row because I mentioned I was going to SPX for the weekend and would not be available. (Which I lost. Otter mamas are quite excellent at guilt. Don’t mess with them).
ANYWAY, just because I have to head home way early doesn’t mean YOU should miss out, especially on SUNDAY when there’s the TUMBLR MEETUP at 11 a.m and panels with comics luminaries including JIM RUGG, NICK ABADZIS, CHRIS WARE, DAN CLOWES, ADRIAN TOMINE and LOS BROS HERNANDEZ during the rest of the day.
In other words, there will be AMAZING DISCUSSIONS THAT ARE ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCES THAT YOU WILL REGRET MISSING if you stay home.
So GO.

We’ve got a whirlwind week ahead of us as we prep to receive all your smiling faces at SPX 2012. All of our work over the last year is coming together to produce the two best days of independent comics that you can find anywhere…
And here’s the thing, everybody… I have thrown my own personal marker down that I believe we can top 5,000 people at SPX this year.
Now, some context.
That is a HUGE number. Enormous. Practically double last year’s show. Totally, completely pie-in-the sky unrealistic, even with the great growth the show has seen over the last couple of years….
Getting 5,000 people to the show means completely blowing the doors off of our most aggressive expectations. Well I should say, sensible expectations.
But I am not about being sensible.
I am about you helping us fully and completely obliterate last year’s record turn-out. We can do it. And every single dollar will go to charity.
But there is only one way this happens… We need your help.
We can hit this crazy insane goal if you make sure everyone you know that loves comics is coming to the Small Press Expo.
Invite your friends, mention us on your blog, or maybe even share a few copies of Theo Ellsworth’s awesome flyer.
The beautiful thing about SPX is that it is not our show, it is YOUR show. And you guys are hereby deputized to spread the gospel.
